Dynamics 365 consulting that starts with your process, not a demo.
Before anyone configures a system, you need three things: a clear picture of how your business actually runs, an honest view of what Dynamics 365 does out of the box, and a plan with dates and a written estimate. That is what the consulting engagement delivers, whether you are choosing a system, choosing a partner, or rescuing a project that stalled.
What the consulting engagement produces
Fit-gap workshops are run with the people who do the work: the controller who closes the month, the buyer who raises purchase orders, the warehouse lead who receives goods. Each process is walked through and matched against standard Dynamics 365 functionality. Gaps are recorded with a recommendation: configure, extend, change the process, or use a Power Platform component.
The blueprint that follows is written to be read, not filed. It states what will be built, what will not be covered, how it will be tested, and what licences and environments are needed. The roadmap turns it into phases with dates and a written estimate.
You can take that blueprint to any partner. Most customers ask us to deliver it, but it is yours either way.
- You are choosing between Dynamics 365 and something else, or between partners
- A previous implementation stalled and you need an honest assessment of where it stands
- You want a fixed-scope plan and a written estimate before committing budget
- Your team knows the business well but has not been through an ERP project before
The steps, in the order they happen.
Discovery
We learn how the business runs today, with the people who run it, before proposing anything in the system.
Fit-gap workshops
Each process is matched against standard Dynamics 365. Gaps are recorded with a recommended approach and an honest note on effort.
Solution blueprint
A document that states what will be built, what will not, and how success will be measured. Standard functionality first, extensions only where the process genuinely needs them.
Licensing and environments
The licences, environments and Microsoft services the solution needs, so the running cost is known before the project starts.
Roadmap and estimate
Phases with dates, dependencies, the team required and a written estimate you can hold us to.
- Fit-gap register with a recommendation per gap
- Solution blueprint in plain language
- Licensing and environment plan
- Delivery roadmap with dates
- Written estimate and assumptions
- Risk list with owners
What usually goes wrong, and what fixes it.
The demo looked great; the process did not fit
A system was chosen on the strength of a demo. Six months in, the purchasing workflow does not match how approvals really happen. A fit-gap at the start would have shown the mismatch and the configuration that solves it.
The stalled project
A partner has been on site for a year, scope keeps growing and nobody can say when go-live is. An independent assessment lists what is done, what is not, and the shortest honest path to live.
Over-customised before go-live
Every gap was answered with custom code. The upgrade path is already blocked. The blueprint review pushes each customisation back to standard functionality where it can go.
Frequently asked
For a single-entity finance and supply chain scope, typically a few weeks of workshops and writing. Larger scopes take longer. You get a dated plan at the end, which is the point.
No. The blueprint and roadmap are yours and are written so that any competent partner can deliver them. Most customers do continue with us, but it is a separate decision.

Yes. An independent assessment reviews scope, build quality, testing and the plan to go-live, and gives you a written view you can act on.
